Jason Miller
Jason Miller leads the Shavlik Technologies Security Research Team and is responsible for monitoring current threats and vulnerabilities, providing patch management analysis, and researching new protection methods through configuration management to help Shavlik’s customers secure their network. Miller has spent 13 years in the IT and security industry, and previously served as a security consultant auditing financial institutions for government regulatory compliance. He is a graduate of St. Cloud State University (Minn.).
Ryan Russell
Ryan Russell (aka Blue Boar) has worked in the IT field for over 13 years, focusing on information security for the last seven. He was the lead author of Hack Proofing Your Network, Second Edition, contributing author and technical editor of Stealing The Network: How to Own The Box, and is a frequent technical editor for the Hack Proofing series of books from Syngress. Ryan was also a technical advisor on Snort 2.0 Intrusion Detection. Ryan founded the vuln-dev mailing list, and moderated it for three years under the alias "Blue Boar." He is a frequent lecturer at security conferences, and can often be found participating in security mailing lists and website discussions. Ryan is the Director of Information Security at BigFix, Inc.
Susan Bradley
Susan Bradley has been patching since before the Code Red/Nimda days and remembers exactly where she was when SQL slammer hit (i.e. trying to buy something on ebay and wondering why the Internet was so slow). She writes the Patch Watch column for Brian Livingston's Windows Secrets, and was one of the authors of Windows Server 2008 Security Resource kit, and Small Business Server 2008 Unleashed. In real life she's the IT wrangler at her firm, Tamiyasu, Smith, Horn and Braun, where she manages a fleet of Windows Servers, an Exchange Server, desktops, a few Macs, several Windows mobile and iPhones and tries to keep patches up to date
on all of them. In addition, she provides forensic computer
investigations for the litigation consulting arm of the firm. She blogs at www.sbsdiva.com on the topics of small business server, tech topics and whatever she stumbled over that day.
